Why are humans so intrigued by the concept of photography? The answer to this question is probably multifaceted, but whether it's an Instagram image or a picture taken by an expensive SLR camera, photographs capture moments in time eternally while the rest of the world ages. Although Grandma may have passed away, she will forever be thirty years old in the photograph on the mantle. In a way, photography defies the reality of perishability.

Photography has always been an immensely important part of my life, starting when I used to buy disposable cameras with my allowance money in elementary school. Since then, I've invested in a DSLR and took a class through the art department in my last quarter at the University of Washington.
